If you haven’t boarded the A Court Of Thorns And Roses train yet then cauldron help you! You’re missing out!

This book series completely had me fooled. I knew I would like it, however, I did not expect to enjoy a series as much as I enjoyed this one. I found myself spending every free and waking moment engulfed into the world of Prythian and the lives of the High Fae Courts.

It absolutely took me by surprise and shattered my very existence when it ended. I was sitting on my couch anticipating the last few chapters of the book, wanting so badly to read it, but not wanting the series to truly be over. I finally just couldn’t help it I had to know how it would end.

Have I mentioned yet that it shattered my existence? Because Maas took my emotions on a whirlwind of a roller coaster ride. I sat in my living room as I flipped the last page with tears in my eyes and my mouth just wide in disbelief. She managed to pull on my heart, lead me to believe the worst was yet to come and then entirely end this series in such a beautiful and worthy way. I have never had a reading experience quite like this one. It was glorious and I am still left under its beautiful, beautiful spell. ♥

If you have not yet read the Court Of Thorns And Roses series you are truly missing out on one of the best reads of 2017. Though that is entirely my own opinion over any true-proven fact it still regardless is worth every penny spent to read!  I mean come on guys do I really need to beg you to read it? Isn’t my words of appraisal enough for you? No?

Okay fine, But before you entirely write it off as something you wouldn’t read or wont read-  let me explain some reasons why you should stop what your doing now, yes stop everything, and read this series!

***

  1. It’s a spin off of the classic tale Beauty And The Beast. Need I say more about why this point is number one? It is absolutely amazing you can feel the Beauty and the Beast vibe to the story but it’s entirely its own beautiful tale. P.s. I totally see Rhysand as “the beast” and Tamlin kind of reminds me of “Gaston” anyone else?
  2. Hot fiery romances + epic love triangles. oh my goodness, the romance in this book was too die for. I found myself completely in swoon mode for at least half of acomaf not to mention chapters 54 and 55.. *major swoooooon* 🙂 But what book isn’t complete without a love triangle? well in this case, there are two! We have Feyre + the spring court high lord and Feyre + the night court high lord, which will she choose? But you also have Mor + Cassian + Azriel which is an interesting love triangle to say the least. Pining over the same girl, but who does she love? You or me? Or neither… dun dun duuuh.
  3. Sarah J. Freaking Maas! She should be reason enough. If you are like me and have never read a SJM novel before then you need to! Like seriously, enlighten yourself with such an amazing and talented author because I had never heard of her before reading this series ( I know, I know shame on me! Sorry SJM & fans!) But never to fear, I quickly saw for myself why she was so raved about and she made her way onto my list of favorite authors. Which yes she did that in a matter of three books! Although, IF we wish to be technical then in the matter of one and a half books. By the time I was deep into A Court Of Mist And Fury I was hooked entirely to her writing and this epic adventure! (Now, I am a complete Sarah J. Maas junkie, its true I admit to the addiction. ) See my point?
  4. The Character development was absolutely wonderful. I have read so many books where I find characters to be good but not great nor excellent they always lacked in something. Whether it was their overall development throughout the novel or in time they simply just lost their charm. I would grow tired and bored of certain characters and what started out to be 5 favorite characters turned into like 1 or 2. Not with this series, I adored each and every character – even the villains I loved to hate. Maas crafted these characters so uniquely that they made a significant impact in the story and in my feelings towards them too. They held my attention never once becoming dull, boring or even irritating in the slightest. They grew and changed and developed from book to book and it was wonderful to experience. This is one series where I can honestly stand and say I had at least 9 favorite characters overall.
  5. Rhysand is so wonderful that he deserves his own point. Because oh my gosh. Talk about ultimate book boyfriend material I give you Rhysand, our high lord of the night court. I have so much I could say about him but simply the mystery of him in itself is what drew me to his character in the beginning of book one. He came appearing to be the villain (is he? is he not? read the series to find out 😉 ) but left such a huge place in my heart. I am Team Rhysand 110%
  6. Feyre, Feyre freaking bad ass Archeron. She also is so entirely amazing that she deserves her own point as well. Can I just say how completely broken and insecure this girl started out in book one? It was pretty bad I’ll just say but the way Maas took her and morphed her into this independent woman with passion and purpose, who will fight for everything she holds dear and true YAS JUST YAS. She is a heroine that I can say I admire because she picked herself up and brushed herself off and well, again, I’ll leave the rest up to you to read. I don’t want to give away too much.
  7. The story itself is just magical. And I don’t mean that because its a fantasy novel. The story takes you on an epic, twisted journey of rivalries, treason, forbidden love, beasts, magical beings, courts, high lords and corrupt fae who just might wipe out all of existence. Need I say more? It’s truly a story you don’t want to miss out on.
  8. The Villains.  I can say the villains really make this story worthy therefor I felt that the villains deserved a spot on our reasons to read list! Because these villains are crazy! They make the story insanely entertaining. There are times you will be hanging on the edge of your seat personally feeling crushed and defeated by them.  My theory is, Villains in stories are definitely hard to measure up to anymore because lots of novels have villains and they can become pretty overdone or redundant but not SJM villains. I’ll put it bluntly, if that was a reason you were debating not to read this series wipe away all you know about classic villains because these are Fae villains and they are out for serious blood!
  9. Do you love fantasy? Magic? Epic romances? Basically all I have just named above? These last two points will probably be the trickiest. If you said yes to this question than I want you to read #10 and really let that sink in.
  10. Then why not give them a chance? What is there to lose?  I hope you made it to this question, shrugged and said you know, I guess I don’t have anything to lose with reading these novels. Or some variation of “I’ll read them”  If you did, excellent!  I am glad we are beginning to see eye to eye. All I really have left to say from here is give them a shot you might love them just as much (or maybe even more) than I do! If you do decide to jump on the acotar train and read them I would love to hear your thoughts on the books once your done! Feel free to come back and chat with me about what you thought of them in the end!

  1. SJM is one of my all-time favourite authors for the opposite fact that her Throne of Glass series is one of the best book series I have ever read! The next book I plan on reading is ACOTAR though and I am SO excited!!

  2. Still have yet to read this series, or really anything by Sarah Maas, even though I have the whole ACOTAR series and I think the first 3 in Throne of Glass. I think the hype surrounding Maas at the moment is what is keeping me from reading them.

    • I totally understand that, there are many books that I don’t read until the hype has settled. It’s nice to be an odd ball out or a little late to the party sometimes hahah!! ☺️ you’ll have to tell me how you like them when you do read them 🙂

      • I’m just not sure what side I’ll be on when it comes to her books. My best friend hates them and my other friend loves them. I’m not huge on romance so I’m just not sure!
